At the end of May, Allen and I went on a cruise with two of our best friends, Gentry and Hadley! Our ship left from Port Canaveral, so the Friday before it left, we all drove down to Cocoa Beach, FL. We weren't there long, but we were able to have dinner on the water and go for a short walk on the beach the next morning!
Day 1:
Saturday morning, we headed to the port to board our ship - the Carnival Ecstasy!
The first day, we didn't do much. We spent the afternoon laying out in the sun and eating (we did A LOT of eating all week!).
After a few hours we headed to our room where were surprised to find a gift from Gentry's family! So sweet!! (G & H got a gift too!)
We unpacked our stuff and then headed to dinner where we met our table mates for the week and our wonderful waiter, Ronald!
We had such a wonderful time on our cruise. It was so relaxing and so nice to just get away for a few days. We are so blessed to have such good friends to vacation with and we can't wait to hopefully go again soon! I definitely recommend it !
Day 2:
The next morning Gentry and Hadley knocked on our door to wake us up. We opened the door and they told us it was already 10:30! None of us could believe we'd slept so late, since we all usually get up pretty early. So, they said they were going to head to see if they were still serving breakfast and we planned on meeting them up there. A few minutes later, they knocked on our door again.. cracking up. When they got to the top of the ship, it was just getting light out and there weren't very many people out. So, they asked someone what time it was .. It was 6:30! The time on Gentry's phone had changed overnight. So, we thought we had missed a lot of the day, but instead we got a nice and early start :) | Bright and Early :) |
We at breakfast, then watched as the ship docked in Freeport! We got off of the ship for a while and walked around a few shops and took a few pictures.
Once we got back on the ship we decided to test out the water slides! -- So much fun!
That night was "formal night" so we got all dressed up and went to dinner and then to a couple of different shows.
Day 3:
When we woke up on Day 3, (at a normal hour :) ) we were in Nassau! We got off the ship, listened to Allen try to haggle for a while and then took a taxi to Atlantis. We walked around Atlantis for a while and then spent some time at the beach in Nassau... where Allen finally got to talk someone down on prices! That afternoon, we got back on the ship, went to dinner and saw more shows!
Day 4:
On day 4, we went to Half Moon Cay - a private island owned by carnival. This was one of my favorite days. We took a smaller boat to the island and then spent the day laying out and enjoying the beautiful views and clear (cold) water! The ship provided lunch on the island, so we ate lunch and spent more time on the beach before heading back to the ship.
When we got on the ship we went up to the deck and Hadley and Gentry learned to Salsa dance! After dinner, we went to see another show, but we got there early and they were teaching the Thriller dance, so Hadley and Gentry learned that too! They are so cultured now :)
Day 5:
Day 5 was are day at sea. We spent most of the day laying by the pool, getting sun, and reading. That night at dinner, Allen told the waiter it was Hadley's birthday, so they brought her a candle and we all sang. Then the dad we'd eaten dinner with all week told him we were also celebrating both of our anniversaries, so they brought out more cake and sang again!
We had such a wonderful time on our cruise. It was so relaxing and so nice to just get away for a few days. We are so blessed to have such good friends to vacation with and we can't wait to hopefully go again soon! I definitely recommend it !

I'm glad you guys had a great time and were able to celebrate all those events! I really wish Michael and I could have come, but finances are tight and we just couldn't work that in so soon.
ReplyDeleteBut it seems like a completely amazing trip that we'll have to take at some point.
